RLSHL- Following certain irregularities noted on some of the gamesheets from games of the last weekend of the regular season, the Roger-Lizotte Senior Hockey League board took the following decisions:
ST. LEONARD, NB - An early morning accident has claimed the life of a 22-year-old man, at the J.D. Irving sawmill near St. Leonard, N.B.
The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission of New Brunswick has identified the worker as Martin St. Onge.
St. Onge was a player with the St. Jacques Ambassadors, of the Roger-Lizotte Senior Hockey League.
In a release, the commission says preliminary information indicates that St. Onge suffered a fatal head injury Thursday morning when he was pinned between two steel beams while using a cutting torch.
The commission has launched an investigation of the accident to determine the exact cause, and whether there were violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The November 29th game between the Ambassadors and the Temiscouata Predators was postponned. There is no decision made on the December 2nd game between St. Jacques and the St. Quentin Beavers.
